Maison Oriza was originally founded in 1720 in France, during the reign of Louis XV.
After Louis Legrand took over Oriza in 1811, the house was renamed Oriza L. Legrand. By the late 19th century, the house went on to receive the royal warrant as supplier of toiletries and perfume of the royal courts of France, Italy, England, and the Imperial Courts of Napoleon III and Russia.
By the late 1930's the house became defunct among the tumult of WW II.
Oriza L. Legrand was resurrected in its contemporary incarnation by Franck Bellaiche and Hugo Lambert, two perfume-loving entrepreneurs who discovered and became fascinated with the grand history and pedigree of the house. A couple  notable fans of Oriza L. Legrand perfumes are Catherine Deneuve and Isabel Adjani. The Oriza L. Legrand boutique is found on the Rue Saint Augustin, in Paris.
Current perfume offerings from the house are exquisitely presented in stunning flacons with gold tasseled caps, and packaged in ornate boxes recalling the grand Belle Epoque when the historical house realized the pinnacle of its success and grandeur.
Offered here is a 100ml flacon of Chypre Mousse Eau de Parfum, in a fixed-cap spray bottle. Chypre Mousse originates from 1914 and was composed to capture the essence of the forest after the first autumn rains. It is the pungent and humid earthy greenness emanating from the peat, humus, moist fallen leaves, mushrooms, and green shoots of the forest floor, with a hint of floral brightness, and supported by warm balsams, leather, and woody depth.
Top Notes: Wild Mint, Clary Sage, Wild Fennel, and green shoots.
Heart Notes: Oakmoss, Galbanum, Angelica, Fern, Wild Clover, Mastic, and Violet Leaves.
Base Notes: Vetiver, Pine Needles, Oakmoss, Mushroom fresh Humus, Roasted Chestnut Leather, Labdanum, and Balms.
Seller is original owner. This bottle has been stored in it's original box out of direct light and in temperature stable conditions. Less than 2ml of the 100ml of perfume has been used.
