This vintage vendor tray was recently acquired at an estate auction of a longtime collector in Western Illinois. It is appealing, desirable, & collectible.
"ICE COLD SODA! SODA HERE!
Very few jobs have escaped the sweeping changes that the advancement of the computer revolution over the past several decades.
However, one job, stadium vending – sales people carrying trays of cold drinks & other concessions around at sporting events, has been left untouched by the advancement of time & technology. The earliest concession stand appeared in 1906, according to the Ohio Historical Society.
If you have ever been to any stadium for a live sporting event you've heard the hawkers calling out the assortment of items they are selling.
Like many early soft-drink beverages, Orange Crush was created by a chemist, Neil C. Ward, and was originally called “Ward's Orange Crush”. When Ward co-founded the company in 1911 with Clayton J. Howell, actual orange pulp was part of the original formula.
We present this old stadium hawker tray exactly as it was when acquired. No attempts to clean this item have been made.
There is wear which can bee seen in the photos. These issues do not detract from the overall appeal of this item. It measures approximately; 17" x 12" x 3". This will make a great addition to any home or collection.
