T
his listing is for a vintage
triple band ligature. There is no brand name on it, but it was definitely made by Brilhart. They made several varieties of triple band ligatures. This one has a black plastic reed plate, silver side bands, plastic screws bars at the top, and black epoxy screw heads.
I'm not entirely sure what size mouthpiece it is intended for...it is just a hair small for most alto mouthpieces, including a standard Brilhart. It fits perfectly on a modern Selmer S80 though. It could be for a Brilhart Streamline, but unfortunately I don't have one available to check it on. Another possibility is that it is for Bb soprano clarinet, although the reed plate seems sized for an alto reed. I have provided pictures of it on some popular mouthpieces (not included) for you to judge its fit, and have taken measurements to help assist you in determining if this ligature will fit your mouthpiece. The inner diameter is 28.9mm from top to bottom, and 25.3mm from side to side at the widest point. Those measurement are taken at the back of the ligature with the screws fully tightened. Obviously it can open up quite a bit from there, but that is as far closed as it will get.
This ligature is in excellent condition. It has not been bent out of shape, and there are no cracks or breaks. The screws work properly. The plastic parts are in very good condition.
Also included is a matching black plastic cap. The cap has a bunch of nicks and gouges in it, but it is not cracked.
Thanks again for looking!
Note to international buyers:
Due to the current global pandemic, international shipments via USPS mail are experiencing significant delays. This is due to lack of available transportation (ie. mail is normally carried overseas as cargo on commercial passenger flights, however the flight schedules have been slashed). European buyers have experienced wait times of up to 2 months for shipments to arrive. If this potential wait presents a problem for you, please refrain from purchasing at this time. I sincerely apologize for this, unfortunately unavoidable, inconvenience.
